We are all shocked by what is happening in Ukraine, and the scale of displacement of the population. Presbyterian Disaster Assistance offers us the chance to make a donation towards their Emergency Response to the Ukraine War. You can read more, and find details of how to donate by following this link.
You can designate gifts to DR000156, text donate PDAUKR to 41444, go online at pcusa.org/UK22, phone (800) 872-3283 or send a check along with a form which you can collect at the church,
Our member, Al Rocco, writes about a project with which he is involved:
“Edgewater resident and owner of “Dance with Me” dance studios, Sasha Chmerkovskiy, along with his sons – Maksim & Valentin Chmerkovskiy – have launched a massive donation effort to make a difference and help people on the ground in Ukraine. Baranova 27, the street address of the Chmerkovskiy family in Ukraine, is a 100% volunteer based initiative, has opened doors at 2060 Hudson Street in Fort Lee, NJ. Here, they accept donations of a range of items, which are specified on their website, here. [https://baranova27.org/ways-to-help/]They have a gift registry on Amazon under Baranova27, and you can contribute specifically needed items by purchasing them on the site. Alternatively, it is possible to donate cash. Details are also available on the site. Here is an updated list of items that would be particularly appreciated and can be placed in the box in the narthex of our church:
